The tragic toll has become clear in the collision of two vehicles at the Özalp junction on the Çaldıran-Doğubayazıt highway in Van's Çaldıran district. Selbet, Emre, Yunus, and Havvanur Kiraz from the Kiraz family, registered in the Salahane neighborhood, lost their lives at the scene. While Tubanur and Levent Kiraz, also from the same family and injured, continue treatment at the hospital, a broad investigation into the accident is ongoing.
A traffic accident that occurred in the morning hours on the Van-Ağrı border line broke hearts. At the Özalp junction on the Çaldıran-Doğubayazıt highway, two vehicles whose drivers' identities have not yet been determined collided head-on.
KİRAZ FAMILY GRIEVED
Upon notification from nearby drivers, numerous ambulances, fire trucks, and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene. In the initial examination by medical teams at the scene, it was determined that 4 people had lost their lives and 2 people were seriously injured.
During the identification efforts, the tragic toll of the accident emerged. It was learned that those who lost their lives and were injured were from the same family registered in the population of the Salahane neighborhood of the Çaldıran district.

It was determined that those who lost their lives in the horrific accident were Selbet Kiraz, Emre Kiraz, Yunus Kiraz, and Havvanur Kiraz, while it was reported that Tubanur Kiraz and Levent Kiraz, who survived the accident with injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals by ambulances, are continuing their treatment in intensive care.
TRAFFIC RETURNS TO NORMAL, INVESTIGATION CONTINUES
Due to the accident, transportation on the Çaldıran-Doğubayazıt highway was temporarily provided on a single lane under control. After the vehicles involved in the accident were removed from the road with the help of a tow truck and cleaning operations, traffic flow returned to normal.
