THE SPUN-OUT CAR HIT THE PEDESTRIAN
The accident occurred around 14:30 on Muammer Aksoy Street in Kepez Neighborhood of the Ereğli-Zonguldak highway. The truck with license plate 67 ADH 121, driven by Mehmet Demircan (37), heading toward the district center, hit the car with license plate 67 LS 153, driven by Adem Aydın (75), which had stopped to yield to a pedestrian at the crosswalk. The spinning car hit Nesrin Karaman (46), who was crossing the crosswalk, and then hit the median and stopped. In the accident, the car driver Adem Aydın, Zeynep K. (14) next to him, and the pedestrian Nesrin Karaman, who wanted to cross to the other side of the road, were injured. The moments of the accident, in which a woman also narrowly escaped, were captured by another vehicle's camera. The injured were taken to the hospital by ambulances.
TRAFFIC STOPPED ON THE HIGHWAY
Due to the accident, traffic flow on the highway stopped for a while. On the route where traffic teams provided controlled passage, transportation returned to normal after the vehicles were removed and cleaning work was completed.
