THREAT NOTE AND WEAPON FOUND IN TOILET
The incident occurred at Mehmet Akif Ersoy Middle School in Bilecik's Bozüyük district in recent days. A staff member cleaning the toilet used by the school's female students noticed a hidden blank pistol and a note written on a piece of paper. Upon the situation being reported to the school administration without delay, numerous police teams were dispatched to the educational institution.
In the initial technical examination conducted by the security units that arrived at the scene, it was determined that the seized note contained direct threat statements targeting the school principal and some students. The blank pistol, which has evidentiary value, was confiscated. Expert teams both initiated fingerprint work on the materials and scrutinized security camera footage to identify the perpetrator.
MESSAGE SENT TO PARENTS AFTER THE INCIDENT
Following the incident, the school administration sent a mobile phone message to parents stating: "Dear parents, during the routine inspections and controls carried out at our school on April 20, 2026, some findings that we meticulously focus on as per our security procedures were encountered, and the matter was urgently relayed to our security units without any delay. In the process coordinated by our District National Education Director, who personally visited our school; our security teams are conducting all necessary technical examinations with great sensitivity. All our units continue to address every detail, down to the smallest particular, for the peace and safety of our children. In this sensitive process, every convenience will be provided by our school administration to parents who wish to take their children home or request leave for precautionary purposes. We request that you do not rely on information from unofficial channels and would like to emphasize once again that the safety of our children is our utmost priority."
