During the World Cup celebrations where Colombia defeated Ghana, a young woman celebrating topless fell from a car and was injured. The incident ended with the fan sustaining minor injuries.
After Colombia defeated Ghana in the World Cup, fans poured into the streets in great joy, while an event that marked the celebrations became a trending topic on social media. A young female fan, caught up in the excitement, lost her balance and fell onto the road after a topless celebration while leaning out of a car window.
The incident occurred on Friday in the city of Armenia in the Quindío region of western Colombia. In footage captured during the celebrations, where thousands filled the streets, the young woman is seen leaning out of the front passenger window of a moving car.
The ecstatic fan, during her display of joy, removes her bra and raises both arms in the air. As the surrounding crowd continues celebrating, an unexpected accident occurs seconds later.
While the vehicle continues moving slowly, the woman loses her balance, is suddenly thrown backward, and falls onto the asphalt ground on her back.
The fan, hitting the ground hard, is seen not moving for several seconds, while those around rush to help in panic.
A passenger in the car, wearing Colombia's blue jersey, provides first aid, while other nearby fans surround the young woman to help her stand up.
According to local media reports, the young woman suffered minor abrasions and a concussion from the fall. The fan was taken to a nearby health center, kept under observation overnight, and was discharged the next morning.
Following the accident, Quindío police also took action. Authorities fined the driver of the white Chevrolet Spark for allowing a passenger to dangerously lean out of the vehicle.
The celebrations where the incident occurred began after Colombia defeated Ghana 1-0 in the World Cup round of 32, with a goal by Jhon Arias. With this victory, the Colombian national team, nicknamed "Los Cafeteros," advanced to the round of 16 in the World Cup for the third time in its history.
Colombia, delivering an outstanding performance in the match, secured their spot with Arias's early goal, while Gustavo Puerta and Luis Díaz missed their opportunities. Ghana, on the other hand, ended their tournament without a single shot on goal in 90 minutes.
Colombia will face Switzerland in Vancouver, Canada, in the round of 16.
However, this unfortunate incident following the historic victory has become more talked about for the dangerous moments during the celebrations than for the football triumph.
