In the Yenimahalle district of Ankara, 43-year-old Vedat Gürbüz lost his balance while hanging a banner on a pedestrian overpass, fell onto the road, and died after being hit by a moving car.

Vedat Gürbüz (43), who lost his balance while hanging a poster on a pedestrian overpass in Ankara and fell onto the boulevard, died after being hit by a passing car. The moment of the incident was also captured on a vehicle's camera.

THE INCIDENT OCCURRED AROUND NOON

The accident occurred around noon on Fatih Sultan Mehmet Boulevard in the Yenimahalle district. Vedat Gürbüz, who was trying to hang a poster belonging to a private company on the pedestrian overpass, lost his balance and fell onto the road where traffic was flowing.

HE WAS HIT BY A CAR MOMENTS AFTER FALLING

At that moment, a car with license plate 06 EİS 743, driven by Mesut K., heading towards Ankara, struck Gürbüz as he fell from the overpass onto the road. Upon notification from bystanders, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene.

HE DIED AT THE SCENE

Health teams determined that Vedat Gürbüz had died during the check. Gürbüz’s body was taken to the Ankara Forensic Medicine Institute morgue after an examination at the scene.

The driver involved in the accident, Mesut K., was taken to the police station for questioning, and an investigation into the incident has been launched.
