RECONSTRUCTION VIDEO SURFACES
A new development occurred in the case of 21-year-old Ayşen Aycan, who disappeared suddenly a week after divorcing her husband Turgay Begdeda in 2016 in the Çivril district of Denizli, and had been sought as an unsolved case for 10 years. In the case reopened by the teams of the Denizli Police Department Public Order Branch Directorate Homicide Bureau under the coordination of the Çivril Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, video recordings of the reconstruction conducted in the empty field between the Kıralan and Tokça neighborhoods, where the ex-husband Turgay Begdeda confessed to the murder during cross-examination and was arrested by the court yesterday, have emerged.
HE DESCRIBED THE ATROCITY IN ALL DETAIL
In the reconstruction interview conducted under extensive security measures, the murder suspect husband calmly answered the questions of the Chief Public Prosecutor Abdullah Furkan Sünbül, who is leading the investigation, and described the atrocity he had hidden for 10 years in all its details. In the footage that emerged, upon a question from Chief Prosecutor Abdullah Furkan Sünbül, Turgay Begdeda said, "I turned the bend. At that time, there were piles of soil as tall as a man here. Someone had opened a gap in the soil pile to go to his field. I stopped when I saw the spot that clearly looked freshly opened. Seeing that the soil had been recently dug, I started to dig with my hands. I don't remember how much I dug with my hands. I placed Ayşen there, then covered her with soil."
"I WAS ALONE, AYŞEN WAS LIFELESS WHEN I CAME HERE"
To Chief Prosecutor Sünbül's question, "Was anyone else with you? Was the victim Ayşen Aycan lifeless when she came here?" Turgay Begdeda replied, "I was alone. Ayşen was lifeless when I came here. I didn't see any blood on her." No evidence belonging to Ayşen Aycan has yet been found in the area pointed out by murder suspect Turgay Begdeda in the reconstruction video, where excavation work with heavy machinery was carried out.
