In the Idil district of Sirnak, 3 of the 4 people who entered the Tigris River to cool off were rescued with the intervention of bystanders, while Yesim Izer (22) disappeared from sight. In the search efforts involving AFAD, police, gendarmerie, and fire department teams as well as divers, Izer's lifeless body was found. The investigation into the incident continues.
In the Idil district of Sirnak, 4 people who entered the Tigris River to cool off were in danger of drowning. With the intervention of those around, 3 people were pulled out of the water, while Yesim Izer (22) disappeared from sight. After a while, Izer's lifeless body was found by the teams.
The incident occurred at noon in the Elo Dino Castle picnic area near Sulak village in the Idil district. 4 people who entered the Tigris River to cool off were in danger of drowning after a while.
3 PEOPLE WERE PULLED OUT OF THE WATER
Bystanders intervened and pulled 3 people out of the water. However, Yesim Izer disappeared in the water. Upon the report, AFAD, police, gendarmerie, and fire brigade teams were dispatched to the area. Diver teams from the Cizre Fire Department were also sent to the scene to support the efforts. Additionally, a diver team from the Cizre District Police Department's Underwater Group Directorate and an Underwater Search and Rescue Team from the Diyarbakir Provincial Gendarmerie Command were requested for the operations.
TEAMS FOUND THE LIFELESS BODY OF THE UNFORTUNATE GIRL
Meanwhile, to ensure search and rescue operations were conducted more effectively, it was requested from the Ilisu HES Operation Directorate that the Ilisu Dam gates be closed to reduce the water flow. After a while, Izer's lifeless body was found by the teams. The investigation into the incident continues.
