In the statement made by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated that an investigation was conducted by the chief public prosecutor's office in order to uncover the hierarchical structures of armed criminal organizations called "new generation criminal organizations," to holistically identify criminal activities including propaganda, to determine organization members and individuals committing crimes on behalf of the organization, to shed light on all aspects of their actions threatening public order, and to prevent new ones.

INDICTMENT PREPARED AND LAWSUIT FILED

In the statement, which noted that within the scope of the investigations carried out, regarding the actions of the armed criminal organization led by Ismail Atız, codenamed Hamuş, known publicly as "Casperlar," the trial of 295 defendants, including 72 children pushed into crime, continues in the case file of the Bakırköy 19th Heavy Penal Court, the following was recorded:

"Following this public lawsuit filed by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, within the scope of new investigations initiated after the criminal actions of the members of the aforementioned organization continued in a continuous manner, simultaneous search, seizure, apprehension, and detention operations were carried out at many addresses through our law enforcement forces, primarily in Istanbul province, as well as in Adıyaman, Amasya, Ankara, Antalya, Bitlis, Çanakkale, Diyarbakır, Düzce, Elazığ, İzmir, Malatya, Mardin, Ordu, Sakarya, Samsun, Sinop, Şanlıurfa, Tekirdağ, Tokat, and Trabzon provinces.

52 ACTIONS AGAINST 4 VICTIMS AND 70 INJURED PARTIES IN THE FILE

In the investigation file of our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, regarding a total of 52 separate actions against 4 deceased victims and 70 injured-complainants, 95 suspects have been arrested and judicial control measures have been applied to 22 suspects; during the searches, long-barreled and fully automatic pistols, ballistic steel vests, and large quantities of ammunition were seized."

PRISON SENTENCES OF UP TO DECADES REQUESTED

In the statement, it was said, "As a result of the investigation procedures, a public lawsuit has been filed against a total of 149 suspects, requesting their punishment for the crimes of 'establishing and managing an armed organization for the purpose of committing crimes,' 'being a member of an armed criminal organization,' 'making organization propaganda,' 'premeditated murder,' 'attempted intentional killing,' 'aggravated robbery,' 'threat with a weapon,' 'intentional injury with a weapon,' 'forgery of official documents,' 'knowingly endangering public safety,' 'damaging property,' and 'violating Law No. 6136.'"

In the indictment where the punishment of the defendants is requested, prison sentences of up to decades are sought for the organization's leaders and managers as well as organization members.
