Actress Berfin Ant filed a criminal complaint with the prosecutor's office, alleging that her ex-boyfriend, businessman Özgür A., threatened her and grabbed her by the throat. Ant claimed that her ex-boyfriend told her, "I will make Istanbul too small for you; I will not leave you in peace in this city." Özgür A., who denied the accusations against him, argued that he was actually the one who was subjected to verbal and physical assault.
The dispute between actress and model Berfin Ant and her ex-boyfriend, businessman Özgür A., has been taken to court. After the incident, which is stated to have occurred in front of an entertainment venue in Etiler, the parties applied to the prosecutor's office with petitions accusing each other.
THEY CAME FACE TO FACE IN FRONT OF THE ENTERTAINMENT VENUE
Berfin Ant, who went to the entertainment venue in Etiler with a friend, had an unexpected encounter about half an hour later when her ex-boyfriend Özgür A. also arrived at the same place. Around 01:50 at night, a friend of Özgür A. came over to Ant, who was leaving the venue, and said, "There are things you need to talk about with Özgür." Ant, however, stated that she did not want to talk to her ex-boyfriend.
SHE CLAIMED THAT HER EX-BOYFRIEND GRABBED HER BY THE THROAT
According to Ant's complaint, while she was trying to move away from the venue, Özgür A. followed her and began threatening her. It was alleged that the businessman then grabbed the young woman and squeezed her throat with his hands. Ant's friend, who was with her, stopped a passing taxi and got away from the scene. After what happened, the actress applied to the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and filed a complaint against her ex-boyfriend.
"I WILL MAKE ISTANBUL TOO SMALL FOR YOU"
Berfin Ant claimed in the petition she submitted to the prosecutor's office that the threats continued after leaving the scene. In her complaint, Ant stated: "After the incident, he called me on my cell phone and made threats such as, 'I will make Istanbul too small for you; I will not let you have peace in this city.' I am filing a complaint against Özgür A., who physically and verbally assaulted me."
COUNTERMOVE FROM THE EX-BOYFRIEND: I AM THE ONE WHO WAS ACTUALLY ATTACKED
Following Berfin Ant's accusations, Özgür A. also submitted a petition to the prosecutor's office through his lawyer. The businessman, rejecting the allegations of threats and physical assault against him, argued that he was the one who was subjected to verbal and physical violence during the incident. In Özgür A.'s petition, it was also claimed that there was no evidence corroborating the accusations put forward by Berfin Ant.
