The investigation into the incident in Mersin's Bozyazı district, where two children from the same family lost their lives, is being conducted comprehensively. Following instructions from the Anamur Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, AFAD teams dispatched to the area carried out a detailed examination at the scene.
Police officer Musa Tülü (39), who serves in the Karaman Provincial Police Department, his wife Ebru (33), and their children Azra (7) and Ömer Selim (4), were taken to the hospital after falling ill in the Tekmen neighborhood of the Bozyazı district, their hometown, over the weekend. The children, who were treated for vomiting and nausea, could not be saved despite all interventions. The parents were referred to Mersin City Hospital for further tests and treatment.
TOXIC SUBSTANCE SCREENING BY AFAD
Following the incident, within the scope of the investigation launched under the instruction of the Anamur Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, AFAD (Disaster and Emergency Management Authority) teams from Mersin conducted 'air quality and toxic substance' screening in the area.
As part of the efforts, the house where the family stayed, its surroundings, and the vehicle they traveled in were thoroughly examined. Expert teams investigated whether any toxic gas or chemical substance was present in the environment using specialized measuring devices.
TECHNICAL REPORT EXPECTED TO BE SUBMITTED TO THE PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE
The definitive cause of the incident is expected to be clarified after the technical report prepared on the examinations is submitted to the prosecutor's office. It was reported that the investigation is being conducted meticulously.
