Following the funeral of the artist Soner Olgun, who passed away in recent days, his ex-wife Özlem Koldaş expressed the family's resentment, stating that the deceased's elder daughter, Ayşecan Olgun, had organized a separate condolence gathering without their knowledge and had not informed her own sister.
Following the funeral of Soner Olgun, a master name of Turkish music who died at the age of 67 due to pancreatic cancer and was laid to rest on October 18 in Istanbul, a condolence crisis erupted within the family. The late artist's ex-wife, Özlem Koldaş, reacted sharply, stating that Olgun's elder daughter, Ayşecan Olgun, had organized a separate condolence gathering without their knowledge.
"MY CONSCIENCE CANNOT ACCEPT IT"
Speaking about the division at the condolence house, Özlem Koldaş expressed her reproach that her daughter Elif Olgun had been left unaware of her father's condolence gathering. Stating that she could not accept what had happened, Koldaş said, "I opened a condolence house for my daughter's father. I told his elder daughter too, and she told me, 'There is no need.' It turns out she had organized a separate condolence gathering without our knowledge. She may not invite me, but she has a sister. Elif, who is the child of the same father… I can find it in neither my conscience nor my heart to leave a child unaware of the condolence gathering held for her own father," she said.
"I DON'T THINK I CAN FORGIVE FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE"
Emphasizing that her resentment was not for herself but for her daughter, Koldaş said, "Sometimes a person goes through such things that neither the mind nor the heart can accept them. I never thought that people who have not been in our lives for 25 years could hurt us like this even on our most painful day. I don't think I can forgive this resentment for the rest of my life. Everyone will be left alone with their own conscience and one day will face what they have done," she said.
