In Mexico, 28-year-old Abidai López Solís died on a plane she had boarded to visit her family. After the plane landed, passengers who noticed that the young woman had not gotten up from her seat tried to wake her but received no response. While medical teams determined that Solís had lost her life, it was announced that her death occurred as a result of cardiac and respiratory arrest.
On a Volaris Airlines flight from Tijuana, Mexico, to Tapachula International Airport in the state of Chiapas, 28-year-old Abidai López Solís was found motionless in her seat. After the plane landed, as passengers began to leave the cabin, it was understood that the young woman had lost her life.
PASSENGERS NEXT TO HER NOTICED
Volaris Airlines flight 3358 landed as scheduled at Tapachula International Airport in the early morning hours of Wednesday, October 7.
While passengers were preparing to disembark, it was noticed that 28-year-old Abidai López Solís did not get up from her seat. Passengers sitting nearby tried to wake the young woman but received no response.
Thereupon, the situation was reported to the cabin crew. Medical teams called to the plane determined during their examination that the young woman had lost her life.
NO EMERGENCY WAS REPORTED DURING THE FLIGHT
It was learned that no health problem was reported during the flight in which the young woman lost her life, and no situation occurred that would have required the plane to make an emergency landing.
After the plane arrived at the airport at the scheduled time, passengers were evacuated while medical teams examined the seat where the young woman was. Airport officials were also dispatched to the scene, while Solís's lifeless body was removed from the plane under the supervision of prosecutors.
CAUSE OF DEATH DETERMINED
The young woman's body was taken to the forensic medicine unit for an autopsy to determine the cause of death. In forensic examinations, it was assessed that Solís lost her life as a result of cardiac and respiratory arrest and that her death was due to natural causes.
The Chiapas State Prosecutor's Office has not yet shared the detailed results of the autopsy with the public.
SHE HAD SET OUT TO VISIT HER FAMILY
It was stated that Abidai López Solís, who was learned to be from the city of Acacoyagua in the state of Chiapas, had traveled to the region to visit her family. The young woman's relatives went to the Chiapas State Prosecutor's Office on Thursday, October 8, and carried out the identification of the body.
Solís's body was taken by her family to her hometown of Acacoyagua for burial.
INVESTIGATION INTO THE INCIDENT CONTINUES
Volaris Airlines has not yet made an official statement regarding the unexpected death of its passenger.
While authorities' investigation into the incident continues, no findings indicating any element of crime in the young woman's death have been reported.
