The U.S. District Court in Massachusetts has ruled for the extradition of Timur Cihantimur, who caused the death of Oğuz Murat Aci by driving without a license in Istanbul, and his mother Eylem Tok, who helped him flee to the U.S. Following the decision, Oğuz Murat Aci's father, Özer Aci, stated, "I told them not to come in handcuffs, but they preferred the handcuffs. Now they will come here walking. I will meet them at the airport."

Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç announced that it has been decided to extradite Eylem Tok and Timur Cihantimur, who fled to Egypt and then to the United States (USA) after the fatal and injury-causing traffic accident that occurred in Eyüpsultan, Istanbul, via the social media platform X.

In his statement, Tunç continued, "Following the judicial investigation initiated after the fatal and injury-causing traffic accident in Eyüpsultan, Istanbul, it has been decided by the Massachusetts District Court to extradite the suspects Eylem Tok and Timur Cihantimur, who left our country and were captured and detained in the USA under our extradition request."

Tunç also stated, "We will continue our necessary efforts regarding the extradition of the suspects from the USA to our country for the realization of justice."

"I WILL WELCOME THEM AT THE AIRPORT"

The grieving father of Oğuz Murat Aci, Özer Aci, regarding the extradition of his wife and son to Turkey, said, "I believed in my case. As a result of this belief, I fought, made efforts, did not sleep, and remained sleepless. I did whatever was necessary for my case. This is still the beginning. I constantly told Eylem Tok not to come handcuffed, but she preferred to come handcuffed. The heart knows best. They thought I would escape to the USA, I have money, I would lose my trace. The conscience is gnawing from within and will continue to gnaw. She is raising a bright child, and now she will hand him over to Turkish justice. They thought I was someone who would be forgotten over time, living alone in a village. It has been exactly 1 year. What happened? The Ministry of Justice called and said they would be extradited to Turkey. We have 1-2 months left. I will be waiting eagerly, I will welcome them at the airport.

"SHE KILLED HER OWN CHILD ALIVE"

Our hearts were soothed. You know how a person falls, gets tired, and needs energy; well, this is my energy. Just as I was about to fall, I stood up and continue the fight upright. Thanks to you, our state, politicians, and our Minister of Justice, I continue the struggle. I am not alone; the wind blew from behind me, not in front of me. What they did will not go unpunished, and it will not. Hopefully, Turkish Justice will give an exemplary decision. Such people do not hit and run away; they cannot escape. I never imagined losing a child at this age, but they also did not imagine that a 17-year-old child would stay in prison for a year in a place like the USA. Divine justice is this. You can hit and kill someone, but that person also has a mother, father, and child. You may act on maternal instinct, but what would happen if you put your child in the car and acted as a mother to our children? What would you lose? In my opinion, she killed her own child alive. When it comes to this incident, our hearts were soothed, but has our wound healed? No. This is not an easy thing. Even after a year, we are at the same point, in the same situation. Nothing will change until justice is served. I will work, I will strive until they receive the highest penalties to soothe my heart."

"THEY ARE STILL TALKING ABOUT MONEY"

"I am not alone; there are thousands of hearts that share my pain. We have always seen Eylem Tok and her killer child through the media. How can a person do such evil to their own child? What kind of a mother is this who does evil to both my child and her own? When I see her, I will ask her this. Is this how motherhood works? Is every criminal's mother supposed to help them escape? Is this what is needed? I need to ask her why she fled. Are there no relatives of Eylem Tok here? The doctor who is separated from her is not looking for me, but no one from the family is calling either. We do not need this, but the state is apologizing to the state. What happened? They had money? They fled from here to there, spending millions of dollars. What did they gain? Nothing. They have been in prison for 8 months. I spoke with the Minister; it will take another 2 months, they have been in a place like the USA for 10 months. I told them I would make their lives miserable; even if they go to Fizan, I will follow them. They thought I was passive. I am calling out to the doctor from here; do not think of me as passive, doctor. I do not have as much money as you, but there are thousands of people who share my pain. I told him to his face, "You have made a mistake, doctor." This has turned into a battle between materialism and spirituality. They are still talking about money. Let's see how far the power of money will go. Time will show this. If they give me Istanbul, will my son come back? If they are talking about a price now, let them price their son; I will pay that money."

WHAT HAPPENED?

On March 1 in Eyüpsultan, one of the 3 ATVs in motion broke down, and while the broken vehicle was being repaired on the roadside, one of the two vehicles moving in the same direction crashed into the 3 ATVs, resulting in 5 injuries, and Oğuz Murat Aci lost his life.

It was determined that the mother of the 17-year-old driver Timur Cihantimur, who caused the accident, Eylem Tok, fled the scene in her vehicle and went first to Egypt and then to the USA.

A temporary arrest request document for the extradition of the suspects was sent by the Ministry of Justice to the relevant authorities in the USA, and upon the decision of the Florida federal court, Cihantimur and Tok were captured by the police in Boston on June 14.

On June 18, the mother and son were brought to court at different times, and it was decided to continue their detention. Cihantimur's lawyers argued that "the conditions of the detention center where their client is held are very poor" and requested house arrest or a change of location, but the judge rejected this request during Cihantimur's second hearing on June 21.
