AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik made statements regarding current issues after his party's Central Decision and Executive Board (MKYK) meeting. Touching on the fund investigation, Çelik stated that all state institutions are continuing their work to redress grievances and punish those responsible.
"FUND FRAUDSTERS ARE BEING TARGETED"
Emphasizing that people alleged to be involved in fund fraud must be distinguished from legitimate investors, Ömer Çelik stated that assessments that could harm capital markets and the Turkish economy should be avoided. Çelik said, "We do not and will not condemn anyone through any political lynching campaign. But we will not allow any allegation to be covered up through any political patronage either."
"ACTING IN A DETERMINED AND UNCOMPROMISING MANNER"
Çelik, saying "With the will demonstrated by our President on the fund issue, efforts are proceeding rapidly," said, "There is determined and uncompromising action, with a high level of will, to go after those who carry out these corrupt practices, whom we call fund fraudsters and fund devils. Of course, we carefully distinguish between those we call fund devils and fund fraudsters and legitimate investors—our citizens who use these as a legitimate investment tool."

Çelik, who described those who multiplied their money through the fund scam as "fund devils," said, "We state that while these issues are being discussed in Turkey, certain approaches and assessments that would harm capital markets and the Turkish economy are not right. But alongside that, of course, we continue to express through these mechanisms our determination to go after these fund devils and fund fraudsters."
