A striking statement came from Amedspor Football Branch Manager Nedim Şimşek regarding Fenerbahçe. Şimşek, who said they requested 4-5 players from the yellow-navy blues but could not get any of them, stated, "Nobody should sing praises of Fenerbahçe's president and board members to us."
At a press conference held at a hotel in Diyarbakır, Amedspor managers and technical staff came together with members of the press before the Erzurumspor victory in the first week of the Super League and the Kocaelispor match to be played at the weekend. At the meeting, the transfer process, the camp period, infrastructure work, and the team's goals in the league were evaluated.
"BUILDING A TEAM FROM SCRATCH WAS REALLY HARD"
Nedim Şimşek, the head of Amedspor's football branch, stated that after the Burdur camp, they gathered in Diyarbakır and continued their work, and said that with Ali Turap joining from Galatasaray, they reached a total of 17 transfers. Şimşek, who expressed that not having a skeleton squad left from last year made their job difficult, noted the following:
"The transfer process was really very difficult. Since we didn't have a skeleton from last year, it wasn't easy to build a team from scratch. We formed our squad in line with our coach's report. It was even more difficult to make transfers to a team newly promoted to the league, to a place like Diyarbakır. Because most footballers in the world mainly know Istanbul. We explained as best we could. Also, it didn't just end with transfers; our field and facilities were also under renovation. Şimşek, emphasizing that their transfer requests from Fenerbahçe during the transfer process were not met and that they would not take loan players unless necessary, said the following:
"We asked for 4-5 footballers from Fenerbahçe. But they didn't give us any player. The opposite was written in the press. No one should praise Fenerbahçe's president and manager to us. We were not established to train players for Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe. We won't take loan players unless we have to."

Amedspor Technical Director Besnik Hasi, on the other hand, stated that the board of directors is doing a very good job and brought the needed players to the team. Hasi, emphasizing that they will compete in a difficult league, used the following statements:

They said they would bring the players I want, that are needed, and they are doing it. I am currently pleased with the team. However, it will be a very long and difficult league. Hasi, stating that they want to combine Amedspor's game identity with the cultural structure of the region, made the following assessment regarding the 'Barcelona' comparisons made towards the team:
"We need to be a bit more careful when making comparisons with Barcelona. Because right now, as a team, we are not in that position. We need to create this identity within the team. We know how sensitive a region and order we are in; our board of directors is aware of this and is taking very good precautions. Staying in the league is very important. We are in the Super League for the first time; it will be very difficult, but we have the power to be successful."

The experienced coach, emphasizing that the victory and the 3 points gained against Erzurumspor were very important for the start, also touched on the importance of the infrastructure for the club's future, saying, "Diyarbakır is a very big region, and I am sure there are many hidden talents. We have players from the academy like Civan, Burak Gün, and Hasan Yıldırım. I was thinking of playing Hasan in the starting eleven in the friendly match in Burdur, but he suffered an unfortunate injury. They have many admirers not only within the city but also abroad. I have acquaintances in Belgium; they are even sending me support messages from there. However, in the last match, they started throwing things onto the field. This situation could cause the referee to stop the game and negatively affect the result of the match. I reacted because I am worried about this. I am sure they will continue to support us, and we deserve it."
