In the flood disaster in Sarıyer Ayazağa that turned the streets into rivers, excavators in the surrounding area came to the rescue of citizens stranded in the middle of the waters. Dozens of people, including children and women, were placed in the giant bucket of the construction machine and transported to safe areas.

The heavy downpour, which intensified in Sarıyer Ayazağa, turned avenues and streets into rivers. While many private vehicles and public transport vehicles were stranded on roads that turned into lakes, construction machinery came to the rescue of citizens stranded on sidewalks and bus stops due to rising floodwaters.

DOZENS OF PEOPLE WERE CARRIED BY BEING PLACED IN THE EXCAVATOR'S BUCKET

The excavators dispatched to the area after reports shuttled back and forth to rescue citizens trapped amid high-flow floodwaters. Dozens of people loaded into the bucket of the construction machine were evacuated to safe areas and bus stops by plowing through the floodwaters. The moments of fear and rescue of citizens who took shelter in the excavator bucket were captured on camera second by second.

"I RESCUED FOUR VEHICLES, NOW I'M GOING WITH THE EXCAVATOR TO PICK UP MY FAMILY"

Hüseyin Baş, who works in freight transport in the region and helps citizens with his own means, described the life-and-death struggle, saying: "I am a freight transporter, I have rescued four vehicles so far. Now I'm going with the excavator to try to pick up my family, who are stranded on the bus. Nobody knows anybody, but everyone is trying to help each other; the situation is truly very dire, everyone is in a miserable state."
