An investigation has been launched into Tamar Tanrıyar, known for social media posts targeting some CHP members.
The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation against Tamar Tanrıyar for the crimes of "insult" and "slander" due to videos he posted on social media.
ÖZEL AND AĞBABA FILED A CRIMINAL COMPLAINT
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel and Malatya Deputy Veli Ağbaba filed a criminal complaint against Tamar Tanrıyar for making publications containing "insult" and "slander" against them on social media.
EMPHASIS ON "ATTACK ON PERSONAL RIGHTS"
In the complaint petitions, it was stated that in videos published on a YouTube channel on May 9, 10, and 11, 2026, false allegations were made against Özel and Ağbaba and attacks were carried out on their personal rights. The petition claimed that the said publications constituted the crime of "publicly insulting a public official due to their duty and insulting an individual."
ALLEGATIONS STATED TO BE UNFOUNDED
The petition alleged that the accusations were entirely fictional and "fabricated slanders made up at a desk." It was also emphasized that the suspect had previously targeted them with similar unfounded allegations and could not provide any evidence for these claims before the judiciary. Following the complaint, the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation against Tanrıyar for the crimes of "insult" and "slander."
