An Israeli tactic from Ukraine against Russian soldiers! Stopped at the last moment

Russia announced that it prevented Ukrainian intelligence’s explosive trap targeting Russian soldiers. According to the claim, Ukraine tried to send FPV drone goggles rigged with explosives to Russian soldiers through aid organizations. It was alleged that the goggles were planned to explode the moment they were turned on, killing the soldiers. The attempt brought to mind Israel’s pager attack on Hezbollah.

The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) announced today that a series of sabotage attempts by Ukrainian intelligence targeting Russian soldiers had been prevented.

According to the FSB statement, Ukrainian intelligence placed explosives inside FPV drone goggles intended to be delivered to Russian army drone operators.

It was claimed that the devices were planned to be delivered to Russian soldiers under the guise of humanitarian aid supplies.

THE GOGGLES WERE SET TO EXPLODE WHEN TURNED ON

Russian security officials stated that a soldier in the Volgograd region became suspicious of two FPV goggles sent to him through a volunteer aid organization and applied to security units.

In an examination by experts, it was determined that improvised explosive devices had been placed in the sections where the goggles' cooling fans are located.

The FSB reported that the explosives were intended to detonate when the goggles were turned on, killing the Russian soldiers using the devices.

THEY WERE ALLEGED TO HAVE USED AID ORGANIZATIONS

According to Russia's statement, people linked to Ukrainian intelligence contacted aid organizations and volunteers in Russia while concealing their identities.

The suspects, said to have used fake accounts on Telegram, allegedly handed over the goggles with explosives to aid organizations to be sent to Russian soldiers.

It was stated that the suspects avoided sharing personal information during conversations, did not provide phone numbers, and requested a thank-you video from Russian soldiers.

THEY WERE SEIZED IN DIFFERENT REGIONS OF RUSSIA

The FSB announced that in investigations launched after the first devices were detected, similar explosive devices were seized in different regions of Russia.

It was stated that the goggles with explosives were sent through Russia's postal service.

An investigation has been launched into the incident on charges of illegal possession of explosive substances, manufacture of explosive devices, and preparation for a terrorist attack.

Russian security units reported that work continues to identify the people who played a role in sending the devices.

IT RECALLED ISRAEL'S PAGER ATTACK ON HEZBOLLAH

The attempt announced by Russia bears similarity to Israel's attacks in September 2024 in Lebanon on pagers and radios used by Hezbollah members.

In those attacks, communication devices with explosives placed inside them detonated simultaneously, many people lost their lives, and thousands were injured.

In Russia's latest statement as well, it was similarly claimed that electronic devices in everyday use were turned into explosive traps.

On the other hand, reports that Ukrainian intelligence rigged FPV goggles with explosives first emerged in February 2025. Ukrainian intelligence sources at that time claimed that the operation was carried out by them.

NO STATEMENT FROM UKRAINE YET

No verified statement has yet come from Ukrainian authorities regarding the latest attempt announced by Russia on November 2.

While the FSB stated that the explosives were seized and the attacks were prevented, the details of the incident have not yet been verified by independent sources.
