85% OF THE SHARES CHANGED HANDS
An announcement regarding the transfer process was made on the website of the Competition Authority. Accordingly, the Authority decided to allow the acquisition of 85% of the shares of Trendyol GO, which operates in the field of grocery and food delivery through an e-commerce platform, by Uber. With this transaction, it is anticipated that the company, which operates under the UberEats brand in many countries around the world, will also start operating in the grocery and food delivery sector in Turkey. Considering the application made by Uber, the Authority granted permission for the transaction, taking into account that it would not result in a significant reduction of effective competition in any market for goods or services in the country as a whole or in part, particularly regarding the creation of a dominant position or the strengthening of an existing dominant position.
