A fight broke out between two groups celebrating on the terrace of a hotel in Beşiktaş over the issue of "You splashed champagne on me." In the incident, where two people were injured, the suspects were caught at the border gate while trying to flee to Bulgaria.
A terrifying incident occurred yesterday around 01:30 at a bar on the terrace of a hotel located in the Vişnezade neighborhood of Beşiktaş district in Istanbul. Customers Abdulkadir D. (31) and Bahtiyar K. (32) started to have fun at the bar. Anıl K. (35), his brother Alper K. (32), and their cousin Yakup D. also came to the same bar and ordered champagne at their table.
GUNS TALKED IN THE CHAMPAGNE FIGHT
After the waiter brought the order, Yakup D. popped the champagne at the table. However, the drink splashed onto Abdulkadir D. and Bahtiyar K. at the next table. The argument that started between the parties quickly turned into a fight. During the fight, Anıl K., who took the gun of his bodyguard Osman B. (60), opened fire on the people at the next table.
ACCIDENTALLY SHOT HIS BROTHER
In the incident, Bahtiyar K. was injured in the foot, and Anıl K.'s brother Alper K. was accidentally injured in the calf. Four bullet casings hit the establishment's window, and police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene upon notification. After the first intervention by the medical teams that arrived shortly, the injured Bahtiyar K. was taken to Okmeydanı Prof. Dr. Cemil Taşçıoğlu City Hospital by ambulance for treatment. Anıl K., his injured brother Alper K., their cousin Yakup D., and bodyguard Osman B. left the hotel in a vehicle with the license plate 34 AST 036. The events were captured by both security and mobile phone cameras.
CAUGHT AT THE BORDER GATE
After the incident, the Beşiktaş Public Order Bureau teams started an investigation and examined the hotel's security camera footage. It was determined that the gun was brought into the hotel by bodyguard Osman B. Alper K., who was involved in the incident and whose address was raided, was caught by the police while injured. Alper K. was taken to Şişli Hamidiye Etfal Training and Research Hospital in Sarıyer Seyrantepe by ambulance for treatment.
The Beşiktaş Public Order Bureau teams, continuing their investigations, determined that Anıl K. and his cousin Yakup D. were heading towards the Kapıkule Border Gate in Edirne in a vehicle with the license plate 34 EAK 36. The police, who pursued the suspects, caught Anıl K. and Yakup D. while they were about to cross into Bulgaria. Meanwhile, bodyguard Osman B. was also detained along with the unlicensed firearm used in the incident.
THE ATTACKER HAD 8 CRIMINAL RECORDS
In the statements taken from the three suspects brought to the police, it was learned that after popping the champagne, there was a dispute with those sitting at the next table, which then escalated into a fight. It was determined that Anıl K. had 8 criminal records at the police, while the three suspects, whose procedures were completed, were referred to the courthouse for the crimes of 'violation of the law on firearms', 'intentional injury', 'deliberately endangering public safety', and 'damage to property'.
