In the Sur district of Diyarbakır, a calf that escaped after the barn collapsed was found and returned to its owner nine months later in another village. The wild runaway calf does not allow anyone to approach it.

In the rural Erimli neighborhood of the central Sur district of Diyarbakır, a 3-month-old calf belonging to Sıdıka Kut (85) escaped from the barn that was left with an open door last September.

Although the calf was seen in the agricultural fields surrounding the neighborhood and along the banks of the Tigris River during this time, it could not be caught because it had become wild.

IT WAS SEEN ENTERING THE BARN

About 9 months later, the calf was seen entering a barn after mingling with a herd in the rural Güzelköy neighborhood, which is 5 kilometers away.

After the herder noticed the calf among the animals and reported it, the residents of Erimli neighborhood went to the specified area and delivered the calf, which they had tranquilized with a needle, back to its owner using a pickup truck.

"IT DOESN'T LET ANYONE APPROACH"

Şaban Kut, the nephew of Sıdıka Kut, stated that the calf had escaped from the barn and said that despite their efforts, they had not been able to catch the wild calf until now.

Kut said, "The calf is avoiding people and other animals. It runs away from anyone who approaches. It doesn't let anyone get close."

Ramazan Kaya, one of the neighborhood residents, also mentioned that they had difficulty catching the calf because it had become wild.

Kaya said, "It has escaped to Güzelköy neighborhood. It enters the barn with the animals there. They told us, we went and brought it back. We brought it back by tranquilizing it; it wasn't easy. The animal is not eating right now. It doesn't let anyone, including its owner, get close to it," he said.
