The Russian army targeted the Coca-Cola factory in the village of Velyka Dymerka in Ukraine's Kyiv region with Shahed-type unmanned aerial vehicles. A fire broke out at the facility following the attack, while Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky claimed that the factory was specifically targeted and that Russia was sending an open message to the United States.

As Russia's air attacks on Ukraine intensified around the capital Kyiv region, a factory of the US-based beverage manufacturer Coca-Cola in the village of Velyka Dymerka also became a target of the strikes.

A fire broke out at the factory site as a result of the attack, which was reported to have been carried out with Shahed-type unmanned aerial vehicles.

ZELENSKY: AN OPEN MESSAGE TO AMERICA

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in a statement made in the evening, commented on the attack. Zelensky argued that Russian forces knew the company operating at the facility was American-owned and that the factory was deliberately targeted for this reason.

Stating that it was impossible for Russia to be unaware of who owns the factory, Zelensky did not view the attack merely as an action against the Ukrainian economy. The Ukrainian leader described the targeting of the factory, which he said was one of Europe's largest beverage production facilities, as an open message from Russia to the United States.

KYIV REGION BECAME THE TARGET OF INTENSE DRONE ATTACKS

It was reported that throughout the day of the attack, the Kyiv region remained under assault from numerous unmanned aerial vehicles sent by Russia.

The Ukrainian side stated that the drones used in the region included models powered by jet engines. Due to the attacks, alarms and security measures were heightened at various points in the region.
