In Ankara's Çankaya district, Sancak K., who raided the workplace of his adversary, shot and seriously wounded Rıfat K. and his wife Zemzem K. during an argument, then committed suicide with the same gun. It was learned that among the injured taken to the hospital, the woman's life-threatening condition persists.
In the Çankaya district of Ankara, a dispute between individuals allegedly harboring a grudge ended bloody. The suspect, who severely wounded a husband and wife in an armed attack on a shop, subsequently committed suicide with the same gun.
STORMED THE SHOP OF HIS ENEMY
The incident occurred in the Yakupabdal neighborhood of Çankaya district. According to the information obtained, 52-year-old Sancak K. arrived at the workplace of Rıfat K., with whom he had a previous grudge. Starting an argument at the workplace with Rıfat K. and his wife Zemzem K., Sancak K. opened fire with his pistol after the fight quickly escalated.
SHOT THE COUPLE AND COMMITTED SUICIDE
The bullets from Sancak K.'s gun first hit Zemzem K. During the ensuing scuffle, Rıfat K., who tried to intervene, was also wounded in various parts of his body. Following the attack, Sancak K. exited the workplace and, a few meters ahead of the shop, turned the same firearm on himself, committing suicide.
WOUNDED WOMAN'S CONDITION REMAINS SERIOUS
Upon the report of nearby shopkeepers who heard the gunshots, numerous gendarmerie and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. After initial medical intervention at the scene, the injured were taken to the hospital by ambulance. It was learned that Zemzem K.'s condition remains life-threatening, while Rıfat K.'s treatment continues.
The body of the deceased attacker, Sancak K., was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue for autopsy after the gendarmerie crime scene investigation teams completed their work.
"THOUGHT IT WAS A FIREWORK"
Baran Sucu, a local shopkeeper describing the incident, said, "We were working in our shop at the time. We heard a sound similar to a firework. When we went outside, we realized it was gunfire. The incident happened among shopkeepers. The attacker shot the man he was arguing with and his wife. Then he went out, walked for a bit, and shot himself in the head. Afterwards, teams arrived and intervened."
A comprehensive judicial investigation into the incident is being carried out by gendarmerie teams.
