Aydın Governor Yakup Canbolat was appointed as the Ankara Governor, replacing Vasip Şahin, who was appointed as the President of TİHEK. Canbolat had been serving as the Governor of Aydın since 2023.
With the appointment decision published in the Official Gazette, Yakup Canbolat, the Governor of Aydın, was appointed to the Ankara Governorship, replacing Vasip Şahin, who was appointed as the President of TİHEK.
ŞAHİN APPOINTED AS TİHEK PRESIDENT
Vasip Şahin, who has been serving as the Governor of Ankara since 2018, was appointed as the President of the Turkish Human Rights and Equality Board with the appointment decision signed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
CANBOLAT BECOMES ANKARA GOVERNOR
The name appointed to the Ankara Governorship, vacated by Şahin, has also been announced.
Yakup Canbolat, who has been serving as the Governor of Aydın since August 10, 2023, became the new governor of Ankara.
WHO IS YAKUP CANBOLAT?
Graduating from Ankara University's Faculty of Political Sciences in 1991, Canbolat took his first step into his career as a district governor candidate in 1991. He began his civil administration career as a district governor candidate at the Konya Governorship in 1992. In 1995, he was appointed as the district governor of Durağan. He served respectively as district governor of Durağan, Yedisu, Cumayeri, and Kâhta, as Deputy Governor of Yozgat, and as district governor of Söğüt. Between 2009 and 2014, he served as the Head of the Training Department of the Ministry of Interior. He served as the Governor of Hakkâri. He became the Governor of Konya on June 1, 2016. In October 2018, he was appointed to the Bursa Governorship with a decree. He had been serving as the Governor of Aydın since August 10, 2023.
