Aziz Yıldırım, who announced his candidacy, wrote the club's legendary figure Aykut Kocaman at the top of his list. Aykut Kocaman served as the technical director at Fenerbahçe for 4 seasons. The 61-year-old manager won the league championship in the 2010-11 season when he started his tenure. In the 2011-12 season, he drew with Galatasaray in the final match played in Kadıköy, losing the championship to their archrival, but won the Turkish Cup.
The successful manager led the Yellow-Navy Blues to the semi-finals of the Europa League in 2012-13, where they were eliminated by Benfica. Finishing 2nd in the league, 10 points behind Galatasaray, Aykut Kocaman won the Turkish Cup and left his position.
