A taxi driver experienced horror in İzmir's Karabağlar district. A passenger who got into the taxi leaned in as if to give money through the window and attacked the driver with a knife. In the ensuing struggle, the driver was injured in the throat. It was learned that the taxi driver, who escaped the attacker and went to the hospital on his own, is in good health.
Terrifying moments were experienced yesterday at around 9:00 PM in the Uzundere area of the Ring Road in Izmir's Karabaglar district. A person named Ertan B. (59) got into a taxi driven by C.B. (61).
PRETENDED TO PAY THEN ATTACKED WITH A KNIFE
After reaching his destination, Ertan B. got out of the vehicle and then leaned in through the window as if to give money to the driver, attacking him with a knife he was holding. During the struggle, C.B. was wounded in the neck with the knife. As C.B. got out of the vehicle, the struggle continued on the street. The taxi driver got back into his car and fled the scene.
DRIVER INJURED, ATTACKER IN CUSTODY
C.B. went to the hospital by his own means and received treatment. Upon notification, police teams launched an investigation, captured the suspect Ertan B., and took him into custody. It was learned that C.B.'s health condition is good.
MOMENTS OF TERROR ON CAMERA
Meanwhile, the moment of the attack was captured on the taxi's dashcam. The footage shows the attacker pretending to hand over money while pressing the knife he was holding against C.B.'s neck, the taxi driver being wounded in the neck, and then getting out of the vehicle.
