In the extraordinary elective general assembly of Fenerbahçe Club, Aziz Yıldırım was elected president with 17,245 of the 27,172 valid votes. Aziz Yıldırım, elected president again after 8 years, joined the fans in singing the song 'Even if we are on the gallows, our last word is Fenerbahçe'.
At Fenerbahçe's Extraordinary General Assembly with Elections, Aziz Yıldırım won the presidential election against Hakan Safi. Yıldırım, who held this position between 1998 and 2018, returned to office after 8 years.
SUPPORT FOR AZIZ YILDIRIM WITH CHANTS
After Fenerbahçe High Disciplinary Board Chairman Şekip Mosturoğlu announced the election results, Aziz Yıldırım walked to the platform set up in front of the Marathon Lower Tribune, supported by congress members with chants. Emotional moments occurred as Aziz Yıldırım joined the fans' song 'Even if we were on the gallows, our last word is Fenerbahçe.'
'WE WILL NOT HOLD A GRUDGE AGAINST EACH OTHER'
Yıldırım took the stage and gave a thank-you speech. Yıldırım said, 'My dear Fenerbahçe brothers and comrades. Today we held an election in our community, and the winner is Fenerbahçe. It is not Aziz Yıldırım and his friends. From today onward, we hope for the coming together of Mr. Hakan Safi or our other elders, the people we mentioned. We also congratulate them. Hopefully, we will make these chants together for our players in this stadium and become champions. We will not hold a grudge against each other. We will embrace each other. Because Fenerbahçe needs unity and togetherness. Division is wrong. Everyone knows the greatness of this community. Only we, by dividing among ourselves, try to destroy this greatness. We will not allow this, all together. Now we have formed a management consisting of valuable people.'
'WE WILL DEFINITELY REPAY OUR DEBT'
Continuing his speech, Yıldırım said, 'With my experience from the past, we will work with them. Our word is our bond: championship. Whatever reinforcements are necessary for this, rest assured we will definitely make them within these 15 days. Do not worry about that. Mr. Nihat and his friends will start efforts to expand this stadium. There are some projects to increase the club's value financially. We will implement them. In the end, my only request is: today you elected me with over 17 thousand votes in the congress with the highest turnout in Fenerbahçe history. For this, I am grateful to you. Together with these friends, we will definitely repay our debt to you. We will not leave without repaying it. We will do that within one year. Let everyone know that. Hopefully, we will make this struggle together. No one will be left out. We will establish our unity and togetherness. We love you.'
