In the bribery investigation targeting Seferihisar Municipality in Izmir, three suspects, including Balçova Mayor Onur Yiğit, were referred to the courthouse. 25 people had been detained in the operation.

Within the scope of the operation conducted against Izmir's Seferihisar Municipality, Balçova Mayor Onur Yiğit, along with 2 other suspects who were detained, have been referred to the courthouse.

Within the scope of the 'Bribery' investigation carried out against Seferihisar Municipality, detention orders were issued for suspects including Seferihisar Mayor İsmail Yetişkin, Balçova Mayor Onur Yiğit, municipal employees, and businesspeople. In the third wave of the operation held on June 25, 25 suspects, including the mayors, were detained.

MAYOR YİĞİT'S MOTHER WAS RELEASED

In addition to the mayors, it was stated that the suspects, including municipal officials and contractors related to construction and zoning issues, received/gave bribes in cash and through bank transfers in return for irregularities, and that there were money transfers considered as bribes before the March 31, 2024 elections.

Among the suspects, Esin Uysal, Director of Zoning and Urbanization, was arrested by the court to which she was referred after her procedures at the police station the previous day. Also, M.Y., the mother of Balçova Mayor Onur Yiğit, who was detained within the scope of the operation, was released yesterday after her statement at the police station.
