After the CHP congress was annulled by a decision of "absolute nullity," the activity within the party continues. Following former General Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's announcement that he would accept the position again, Balıkesir Metropolitan Mayor Ahmet Akın's visit to Kılıçdaroğlu drew attention. Speaking after the visit, Akın said that the CHP would overcome this process in unity and solidarity. Akın stated, "Let everyone's heart be at ease. We will rise again in unity and solidarity."
The court's decision to cancel CHP's 38th Ordinary Congress and rule it "absolutely void" has sparked widespread public reaction.
Following the decision, former Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu announced that he would accept the duty again, while current Chairman Özgür Özel and his administration stated that they stand behind the will of the congress.
VISITED KILIÇDAROĞLU AFTER THE DECISION
Another notable development was that Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Akın visited former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu after the "absolute nullity" decision.

Speaking to the press after visiting Kılıçdaroğlu, Akın said, "Everyone, rest assured. We will overcome this with calmness, common sense, unity and solidarity, all together. We will rise again together, in unity and solidarity."

"Remember that the party that founded Turkey, the Republican People's Party, always continues with unity, calmness, an inclusive attitude, and that understanding. And everyone will eventually move forward in unity. These are normal things; unity and solidarity are our way of life," he stated.
WHAT HAPPENED?
The Ankara Regional Court of Appeals ruled absolute nullity for CHP. It decided to cancel the 38th Ordinary Congress of CHP held on November 4-5, 2023.
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, along with MYK and YDK members, were ordered to be removed from duty. The court also decided that Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, PM, and YDK members should temporarily assume their duties. With the cancellation of the congress, all ordinary and extraordinary congresses held after that date and the decisions taken became null and void.
WHAT DID THE COURT DECISION SAY?
In the decision of the Ankara Regional Court of Appeals 36th Civil Chamber, it was stated: "The temporary removal from duty of Chairman Özgür Özel, Central Executive Committee members, Party Assembly members, and High Disciplinary Board members, who came to office through the congress dated November 4-5, 2023, which is tainted by absolute nullity, and the temporary assumption of duty by Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, Party Assembly, and High Disciplinary Board members who were in office before the congress of November 4-5, 2023, until the decision becomes final, and their reinstatement."
