After 8 months of coalition negotiations in Belgium, N-VA Party leader Bart de Wever has taken office as the new Prime Minister. De Wever will represent his country as the leader of the first party in the June 9, 2024 elections, taking over the position from the current Prime Minister Alexander de Croo.
After approximately 8 months of coalition negotiations in Belgium, the leader of the right-leaning N-VA Party, Bart de Wever, became the country's new prime minister.
NEW PRIME MINISTER ANNOUNCED IN BELGIUM Following the elections held on June 9, 2024, the leader of the New Flemish Alliance (N-VA) Party, which emerged as the first party, Bart de Wever, became the new prime minister as a result of the consensus reached after 237 days of coalition negotiations.
Bart de Wever De Wever, who took over from the current Prime Minister Alexander de Croo, was sworn in before King Philippe. De Wever will also represent his country at the informal European Union (EU) summit to be held today in the capital, Brussels.
The other coalition partners included the liberal Francophone party 'MR', the centrist Francophone 'Les Engages', the socialist Flemish 'Vooruit', and the Christian democrat 'CD&V'.
