The Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy had approved last month the sale of the country's aviation giant company Piaggio Aerospace to Baykar. Baykar won the tender, which was a competitive process, by surpassing competitors from different countries. In this context, a preliminary agreement was signed between Baykar and Piaggio Aerospace for the transfer of the Italian aviation giant's business complexes to Baykar.
MINISTRY TO APPROVE THE ACQUISITION
In a statement from Piaggio Aerospace, it was noted that a preliminary agreement was signed for the transfer of the business complexes of Piaggio Aero Industries and Piaggio Aviation, which operate under the brand, to the Turkish company Baykar, which is a leader in the development and production of unmanned aerial vehicle systems and advanced aviation technologies. The statement mentioned that the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy approved the transaction on December 27, 2024, and that the agreement was signed by senior officials of both companies.
It was stated that the transfer is expected to be completed in the spring after the fulfillment of various conditions, including the approval of the Italian Council of Ministers. The statement also mentioned that a consultation meeting, where Baykar will present its plan for the revitalization of the business complexes and union representatives will also participate, is planned to be held in the coming weeks.
