On June 23, 2019, Berkay Gezgin, known as the architect of the phrase "Everything will be very beautiful" which became a slogan in the election campaign of the CHP candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu before the re-run of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) mayoral elections, was detained during the protest demonstrations held in Saraçhane yesterday.

LAWYER ANNOUNCED

The development was announced by Gezgin's lawyer, Cemil Çiçek. In a post on his social media account regarding the matter, Çiçek stated, "My client Berkay Gezgin, known for saying 'Everything will be very beautiful' to Ekrem İmamoğlu, was also detained last night after returning from Saraçhane. He is still being held in custody. We do not know the charges. Berkay, a bright young university student, needs to be released immediately. Justice, law, and rights for everyone!"
