After Sergen Yalçın took charge of the National Team, a striking claim was put forward. It was alleged that national footballer Hakan Çalhanoğlu wants to leave the Crescent-Star jersey because of Sergen Yalçın.
After Sergen Yalçın was appointed as head coach of the Turkish National Team, another debate has been added regarding his relations with the players. According to the latest claim, Hakan Çalhanoğlu is considering ending his national team career because of Sergen Yalçın.
However, there is no verified information that the national player has made such a decision or has submitted a request to leave to the Turkish Football Federation.
SERGEN YALÇIN HAD PREVIOUSLY RESPONDED TO THE CLAIMS
Sergen Yalçın had previously denied claims that some players did not want to meet with him because of the comments he made on television in the past. Stating that they held one-on-one video calls with all national players, Yalçın used the following statements:
“I don't know where they write these stories. Players don't dwell on my past statements; because we made those statements on screen partly for show. Today we are not on screen, we are on the field.”
THE TFF ALSO MADE A STATEMENT
The Turkish Football Federation had also denied previous claims that some players did not answer Sergen Yalçın's phone calls. The Federation announced that there was no problem between the technical staff and the national players, as alleged. However, there is not yet a verified statement regarding the latest claim about Hakan Çalhanoğlu.
