After the 'absolute nullity' decision regarding the CHP Congress, Borsa Istanbul, which started the day with a 1.50 percent decline, closed the day with a rise. The BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul ended the day at 13,808.20 points, gaining 4.89 percent in value.
The BIST 100 index started the day at 12,966.26 points, down 197.63 points or 1.50 percent.
VALUE INCREASE OF 4.89 PERCENT
The BIST 100 index, which saw the lowest level of 12,966.26 points and the highest level of 13,865.04 points during the day, closed the day at 13,808.20 points, gaining 4.89 percent compared to the previous close.
The BIST 30 index closed at 15,791.14 points, up 739.22 points or 4.91 percent from the previous close.
Compared to the previous close, the technology index gained 7.59 percent, the industrial index 5.13 percent, the services index 4.04 percent, and the financial index 3.93 percent.
Of the stocks included in the BIST 100 index, 97 rose and 3 fell. Akbank, Turkish Airlines, Yapı ve Kredi Bankası, Sasa Polyester, and ASELSAN were the most traded stocks.
WHAT HAD HAPPENED?
The decision of absolute nullity regarding the administration of the Republican People's Party was effective in the selling trend. An absolute nullity decision was issued for the CHP congress held in 2023. The Ankara Regional Court of Justice 36th Civil Chamber, concluding that the congress in 2023 was "defective with absolute nullity", decided to suspend CHP Chairman Özgür Özel from duty and to temporarily reinstate former chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.
Borsa Istanbul closed at 13,163 points yesterday, falling over 6 percent, leading to a margin call of 3.6 billion lira in the Derivatives and Options Exchange, and many investors' funds were wiped out.
Borsa Istanbul started the last trading day of the week at 12,966 points, down 1.50 percent.
