A resignation news that changes the seat balance in the Parliament has arrived. Bursa Deputy Cemalettin Kani Torun resigned from the New Path Party and became independent. With Torun's departure, the New Path's seat count decreased to 19. Following the critical decline, the New Welfare Party came to the party's aid. With the participation of Konya Deputy Ali Yüksel, the required number of 20 deputies for the group was reached.

With Torun, who was registered as an 'Independent Deputy' on the official website of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, the New Path Party's number of seats in Parliament decreased to 19.

The crisis caused by falling below the threshold of 20 deputies required to form a group did not last long. The New Welfare Party came to the party's rescue. With the joining of Ali Yüksel, the Konya Deputy of the New Welfare Party, to the New Path Party, the number of 20 deputies required to form a group in Parliament was reached again.

NUMBER OF INDEPENDENTS IN PARLIAMENT RISES TO 11 

Following the latest developments, the number of independent deputies in the Turkish Grand National Assembly increased to 11, and the seat distribution in Parliament was reshaped.

A SIMILAR CRISIS WAS ALSO OVERCOME WITH THE CHP 

The New Path's parliamentary group had experienced a similar crisis before. At the beginning of August, when Izmir Deputy Mustafa Bilici resigned from the party, the New Path's number of seats had fallen to 19, and the qualification to form a group in Parliament had been lost.  With the joining of CHP Kütahya Deputy Ali Fazıl Kasap to the New Path, the party had reached 20 deputies again.
