DEVA Party Deputy Chairman Kerem Altun called on Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to take action against fund corruption. Kerem Altun said, "Staying silent about this scandal that harms our nation's property and labor and undermines trust is to endorse these wrongs."
DEVA Party member Kerem Altun, who argued that civil society organizations have major duties regarding the fund corruption that has shaken Turkey, made a call with the heading "Our Dear NGO Friends!"
"IT IS A MATTER OF MORALITY AND CONSCIENCE"
Emphasizing that the fund corruption wounded the nation's conscience and shook its sense of trust, Altun said the following:
"The fund fraud that occurred; lack of oversight, examples of betrayal of trust, is not only an economic issue, but a matter of morality and conscience. As democratic institutions that have adopted Anatolian wisdom, sharing, and protecting what is entrusted as their principle, our NGOs must not remain silent about the wrongs taking place. Because silence is complicity in wrongdoing. On this occasion, we call on all our Civil Society Organizations to defend justice, transparency, oversight, and halal earnings, and to protect our nation's rights and legal rights. We await your democratic support and conscientious stance... As you know, what is happening around us pains us all. If no one speaks the truth, wrong takes the place of right. As children of Anatolia, we are members of an ancient tradition. In our tradition, what is entrusted is protected, one does not sleep full while one's neighbor is hungry, and the orphan's rights are not violated. What is happening today does not align with these values. That is why, AS THE DEVA PARTY, we say: Come, let us all together say stop to this wrong. Loudly and with the voice of our conscience. If we, as NGOs, achieve a unity of understanding, these wrongs will be corrected. Your support will give strength to society. To remain silent against this disgrace that harms our nation's property and labor and shakes trust is to approve of these wrongs. "
