Kadir Taş, who works at the jewelry store, stated that the elderly man raising his cane and playing a robbery prank initially surprised them, and that once they realized it was a joke, they all laughed and had fun. Taş said, "As usual, we had gotten up early in the morning and opened our shop. We have a cheerful elderly man; he always stops by. He came again around 10:00 a.m. First, he asked the price of a quarter gold coin. Then, all of a sudden, he said, 'Wait a minute,' and stepped back. At first, I couldn't understand what was happening and was surprised. He raised his cane and said, 'This is a robbery.' We paused for about two or three seconds at first, then we realized he was joking. After that, we all laughed and had fun. We offered our customer tea and sent him off nicely," he said.
