In the Nusaybin district of Mardin, six people from the same family, four of them children, died when the car they were in crashed into a roadside water canal.
In the tragic accident that occurred in Mardin, 6 people in the car that overturned into an irrigation canal lost their lives.
TWO OF THE CHILDREN WERE 5 YEARS OLD
The accident occurred in the afternoon at the rural Tepealtı Neighborhood location on the Cizre road in the Nusaybin district. The car, whose driver's name has not yet been learned, went out of control and flew into the water canal located at the side of the road. Upon notification, numerous medical, fire, and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the accident scene. During the inspection carried out by the teams that arrived at the scene, it was determined that Zana Öztürk (5), Mert Öztürk (5), Mehmet Şirin Öztürk (11) and Lavin Öztürk (9), who were trapped in the vehicle, lost their lives.
TWO PEOPLE DIED AT THE HOSPITAL
Fikriye Öztürk (30) and Gülcan Öztürk (28), who were injured in the accident, were taken to Nusaybin State Hospital by ambulances after their initial interventions. Despite all the doctors' efforts, the 2 women who were taken into treatment could not be saved. The bodies of the 6 deceased were taken to the hospital morgue for autopsy.
An investigation into the accident has been launched.
