The theft suspect, who was a nightmare for vacationers on the beach in Kuşadası district of Aydın, was caught red-handed. Following a series of handbag thefts along the coastline of Kuşadası's Güzelçamlı neighborhood over the past week, gendarmerie teams took action. After meticulously examining the incidents on the beaches, security forces placed 47-year-old T.O., identified as the perpetrator of the thefts, under physical and technical surveillance. As a result of a successful operation, the suspect was caught red-handed by the gendarmerie during a new theft attempt and subdued.

A FORTUNE WORTH 3 MILLION 850 THOUSAND LIRAS DISCOVERED
In extensive searches conducted on the suspect's person, at the stash where he hid the stolen goods, and in the vehicle he used, a small-scale fortune was found. The materials, announced to have a total value of approximately 3 million 850 thousand liras and confiscated by the gendarmerie, were listed as follows:
- 6 latest model iPhone mobile phones
- Various electronic items worth approximately 700 thousand liras
- Gold and jewelry worth 900 thousand liras
- Foreign currency worth 1 million 750 thousand liras
FAKE MILITARY ID AND EVEN A SWORD
During searches of the suspect's vehicle, not only theft spoils but also illegal materials considered to have been used in the crime were uncovered. Other items found by the teams included a fake military ID card, a shotgun, a sword, and knives of various sizes.
After the interrogation and procedures at the gendarmerie command were completed, literature teacher T.O. was arrested by the judicial authorities he was referred to and sent to prison. All seized materials were confiscated within the scope of legal proceedings.
