THEY WOKE UP TO THE SMELL WHILE SLEEPING
A fire broke out in the morning hours at a house in the Besbulak neighborhood of the Yuksekova district. According to the claim; Engin Dara and his family noticed a strong smell coming from the kitchen while they were sleeping. Engin Dara, heading to the kitchen with his wife, heard an explosion sound at that moment. Opening the kitchen door, Dara saw 2 mobile phones on the mat in flames. The growing flames also spread to other parts of the kitchen. The family woke up their children and went outside.
Upon the notification, fire brigade teams and military personnel were dispatched to the address. The fire was brought under control with the intervention of the teams. In the fire, the kitchen, along with some parts of the house, white goods, and various household items, were damaged.
"WE DID THE FIRST INTERVENTION OURSELVES"
Engin Dara, describing what they experienced, said, "In the early hours of the morning, we felt a strong smell. We were sleeping with the children. As we came to the kitchen with my wife, there was an explosion. When I opened the door, I saw the phones on the mat on fire. Within a few seconds, the mat also caught fire. We woke up our children amidst the smoke and took them out. Our neighbors rushed to help. We did the first intervention with our own means. Later, fire brigade teams came and extinguished the fire. However, the kitchen became unusable."
"THE PHONES WERE NOT CHARGING"
Sevim Dara, stating that the phones were not charging, said, "When we went to the kitchen, the mobile phones were burning. In a short time, the flames grew and smoke filled the entire kitchen. Within seconds, my kitchen became unusable. The phones were not charging. We don't know how they exploded either."
An investigation has been initiated to determine the cause of the fire.
