The statements of remorse made by Muhittin Böcek and his son Gökhan Böcek, who were arrested as part of a bribery and corruption investigation, have made a significant impact on the political agenda. The Böcek family claimed that they were asked for 1 million euros in exchange for a candidacy. Meanwhile, CHP Istanbul Deputy Cemal Enginyurt used foul language, saying, 'There are some snitches who are informants. There is a Böcek in Antalya, a real pest.'
Striking statements have emerged in the bribery and corruption investigation against suspended Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Muhittin Böcek and his son Gökhan Böcek. Gökhan Böcek, who benefited from the provisions of effective remorse, made startling allegations regarding the nomination process within the CHP.
ALLEGATION OF "1 MILLION EUROS FOR NOMINATION"
In his statement, Gökhan Böcek claimed that Veli Ağbaba called him on the instruction of CHP Chairman Özgür Özel and demanded 1 million euros for the renomination of Muhittin Böcek. Stating that he informed his father about the situation, Gökhan Böcek alleged that Muhittin Böcek said, "Do what is necessary."
While Gökhan Böcek stated that he delivered the money through an intermediary, it was reported that Muhittin Böcek also confirmed his son's statement in his testimony.
CEMAL ENGİNYURT FUMED
Following the developments, very harsh statements came from CHP Istanbul Deputy Cemal Enginyurt. Enginyurt reacted by using strong language against Muhittin Böcek and his son.
In his statement, Enginyurt said, "There are snitches who have turned informant. There is a Böcek in Antalya, a complete insect. Hey son, aren't you ashamed of those images, are you attacking the CHP? Impudent, ill-mannered. He bribed the CHP. Hey Muhittin, what is said about you in Antalya has reached the heavens."
