Ankara's CerModern museum unveils to an exhibition titled “Özgürlüğün Özel Alanları” (Private Spaces of Freedom) on Saturday on the occasion of the 600th year of diplomatic relations between Poland and Turkey.
On view until Nov. 30, the show features paintings by the winners of the Jan Cybis Award, given in memory of late Polish painter and teacher Jan Cybis.
A joint effort between CerModern and the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, “Private Spaces of Freedom” presents works by Tadeusz Dominik, Jacek Sempoliński, Jan Berdyszak, Rajmund Ziemski, Stefan Gierowski, Jacek Sempoliński, Jerzy Tchórzewski, Jan Lebenstein, Jan Tarasin, Jerzy Nowosielski, Stanisław Fijałkowski, Łukasz Korolkiewicz, Zbigniew Makowski, Jan Dobkowski, Ryszard Winiarski, Erna Rosenstein, Leon Tarasewicz, Tomasz Ciecierski, Teresa Pągowska, Jadwiga Maziarska, Jarosław Modzelewski, Jerzy Kałucki, Tomasz Tatarczyk, Robert Maciejuk, Ryszard Grzyb, Paweł Susid, Marek Sobczyk and Jadwiga Sawicka.
“The exhibition consists of the surrealistic, figurative, conceptual, metaphysical and critical paintings of the laureates of the Jan Cybis Award,” according to a post on the website of the museum.
