In the protests that escalated into violent incidents in the United States, the public confronted each other. In Chicago, Illinois, a driver drove his car into demonstrators supporting irregular migrants.
According to a report by the Chicago Sun-Times, the incident occurred in the Loop, one of Chicago's busy areas, during a march organized by thousands of people gathered to support irregular migrants.
HE DROVE HIS CAR INTO THE CROWD, POLICE COULDN'T STOP HIM
According to eyewitness accounts, a driver trapped between police vehicles on State Street quickly drove into the crowd despite being told to turn right onto Monroe Street to get away from the crowd. A police officer attempted to stop the driver by pulling on the car's door handle, but the driver fled. The woman struck by the driver who drove into the crowd was seen falling to the ground.
Meanwhile, the Chicago police have not yet shared an official statement regarding the incident.
The protests attended by thousands of people in Chicago have brought bus services to a standstill in some areas, causing major traffic disruptions.
ANTI-ICE PROTESTS IN LOS ANGELES
As protests continue in Los Angeles, USA, in support of irregular migrants detained by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the Trump administration has reacted strongly to the events.
During the anti-ICE protests, many demonstrators were detained, and clashes occurred between security forces and protesters at times, with numerous vehicles set on fire by some demonstrators, rendering them unusable.
President Trump announced that he had initially deployed around 2,000 National Guards to the area to control the situation in Los Angeles, and later announced that an additional 2,000 guards and 700 Marines would also be deployed.
