The body of textile worker Gülay Polat, who was reported missing in Kartal, was found inside an abandoned shack. It was revealed that Polat was strangled to death by a coworker and her gold jewelry was stolen. The murder suspect has been taken into custody.

It was determined that the body found in a single-story squatter house in Kartal belonged to Gülay Polat. It was reported that Polat, a textile worker for whom a missing person report was filed on July 3, was strangled by her work colleague and her gold pieces were stolen. The murder suspect was taken into custody.

SHE WAS BEING SOUGHT AS MISSING

The incident occurred on the evening of July 6 on Esenlik Street in Cevizli Neighborhood. According to claims, upon the report of individuals who noticed a motionless woman lying in a single-story squatter house, health and police teams arrived at the scene. Health teams determined that the motionless woman had died. 

While crime scene investigation teams collected evidence at and around the squatter house, after the public prosecutor's examination, the woman's body was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue for identification and autopsy procedures. An investigation into the incident was launched.

STRANGLED FOR HER GOLD

Following the teams' work, it was determined that the body belonged to 58-year-old Gülay Polat, who had been missing since Friday, July 3.
