Within the scope of the 36th NATO Summit hosted by Ankara, US President Donald Trump, who met with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, made striking statements regarding the Russia-Ukraine war.
Trump said he had a long and productive phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and then spoke with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Speaking during his meeting with Erdoğan, Trump stated, "I had a very good meeting with President Putin. It lasted a long time. Immediately after, I also spoke with President Zelenskyy. I think both of them want to make a deal."
Expressing hope that the war could end through diplomatic means, Trump said, "I hope we will resolve this soon."
CRITICAL MEETING WITH ZELENSKYY EXPECTED
Trump and Zelenskyy are expected to meet in Ankara on Wednesday as part of the NATO Summit. It is reported that the main agenda item of the meeting will be the Russia-Ukraine war and Kyiv's security demands.
In a statement before the summit, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy emphasized that his country urgently needs air defense systems against Russia's ballistic missile attacks. Zelenskyy is expected to raise this request during his meeting with Trump as well.
