Recent disciplinary decisions and dismissals within the CHP have sparked a wave of resignations in the Aegean region. In Izmir, six district chairmen referred to the disciplinary board for precautionary expulsion, along with the Menemen organization's management, left the party. A similar reaction came from Aydın. The dismissed Aydın Provincial Chairman Hikmet Saatçı and the provincial administration resigned from the CHP with a harsh statement.

Following disciplinary processes and dismissals carried out in the Republican People's Party (CHP), resignations that created an earthquake effect in the Aegean region came one after another. In Izmir, 7 district chairpersons and their administrations announced their resignation, while in Aydin, the dismissed Provincial Chairperson Hikmet Saatçı and the provincial administration collectively resigned from the CHP.

The recent precautionary expulsion decisions and dismissals in CHP organizations have turned into a massive wave of collective resignations. While the simultaneous resignations in Izmir and Aydin organizations hit the party agenda like a bomb, the managers referred to disciplinary action announced their departure from the party through press statements.

7 DISTRICT ORGANIZATIONS IN IZMIR RESIGNED AT ONCE

The CHP Izmir Provincial Executive Board referred Çiğli District Chairperson Erkan Akar, Karşıyaka District Chairperson Levent Güçlü, Karabağlar District Chairperson Volkan Gürboğa, Gaziemir District Chairperson Çağrı Şırlancı, Narlıdere District Chairperson Mesut Durgun, and Selçuk District Chairperson İpek Onbaşıoğlu to the Provincial Disciplinary Board with precautionary measures, demanding their definitive expulsion.

Following the decision, the six district chairpersons made strong statements in front of their district buildings, backed by women's and youth branches and their executive boards.

Karşıyaka District Chairperson Levent Güçlü emphasized that they learned of the decision via social media and that this situation effectively meant expulsion, announcing their resignation.

Karabağlar District Chairperson Volkan Gürboğa and Narlıdere District Chairperson Mesut Durgun stated they did not accept the stance of the provincial chairmanship. Durgun noted that they left along with 19 out of 21 district executive members, emphasizing they would continue their struggle on a different platform and remain committed to Özgür Özel's vision of change.

Gaziemir District Chairperson Çağrı Şırlancı, Selçuk District Chairperson İpek Onbaşıoğlu, and Çiğli District Chairperson Erkan Akar also acted together with their organizations and decided to resign. Pointing out that the process caused a serious fracture within the party, the district chairpersons announced their departure from all duties and party membership.

The Menemen organization also joined the wave in Izmir; Menemen District Chairperson Hüseyin Özbek, along with administrators and 12 of 13 council members, submitted their resignations, becoming the 7th district organization to leave the party.

STRONG REACTION IN AYDIN

In Aydin, another address of the developments, the dismissed CHP Aydin Provincial Chairperson Hikmet Saatçı and the provincial administration gathered in front of the party building.

Targeting the current party management with harsh words, Hikmet Saatçı said: "Our father's hearth, to which we gave years and shed sweat, has unfortunately surrendered to injustice, irregularities, and the government. We may have been dismissed by the ruthless mentality of the absolute sultan looming over us, but we will send these collaborators back where they came from. Today, we bid farewell to the CHP; we resign. Under the leadership of our elected General Chairperson, Mr. Özgür Özel, we will not take a single step back from our march to power."

THEY HUNG AN 'ÖÇP' BANNER ON THE PROVINCIAL BUILDING

After the statement, the CHP Aydin Youth Branch hung a banner on the CHP Aydin Provincial Chairmanship building with the text 'ÖÇP' (Özlem Çerçioğlu Party), making a reference to Aydin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Özlem Çerçioğlu.
