Following the "absolute nullity" decision regarding the CHP congress, striking backstage claims about Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu have come to the fore. While it is alleged that Kılıçdaroğlu will not be a candidate in the next congress, it is stated that he was deeply saddened by the "traitor Kemal" chants in front of the CHP headquarters. It is also being discussed that Özgür Özel is highly likely to visit Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu at his home during the holiday to lower tensions within the party.
While tensions rise in politics following the Ankara Regional Court of Justice 36th Civil Chamber's decision of "absolute nullity" regarding the CHP's 38th Ordinary Convention, striking behind-the-scenes information regarding Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's front has come to the agenda. It was claimed that Kılıçdaroğlu, who has been cleared to return to the CHP Chairmanship post with the court decision, will not run as a candidate in the next convention.
The court decided to annul the CHP's 38th Ordinary Convention held on November 4-5, 2023, on the grounds that it was tainted by "absolute nullity," and ruled that all ordinary and extraordinary conventions held after the convention be considered invalid. The decision also stated that Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and the previous party administration should continue their duties.
CLAIM THAT KILIÇDAROĞLU "WILL NOT BE A CANDIDATE"
Journalist Gürbüz Evren shared information he received from CHP backstage on Sözcü TV's live broadcast. Evren claimed that Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu does not intend to hold his current position for long and will not run as a candidate in the upcoming first convention.
Evren stated, "Kılıçdaroğlu will not perform his current duty for long. He has such an intention. He will not aspire to any position, he will not be a candidate. A transparent, equal, and fair convention will be held, and he will hand over the party to those elected there."
"WILL NOT GO TO THE HEADQUARTERS"
It was also claimed that Kılıçdaroğlu has decided not to go to the CHP Headquarters. Evren argued that this decision was not recently made, saying, "The decision not to go to the Headquarters was not made yesterday; it was a decision made long ago." It also reflected in backstage that suggestions were made for Kılıçdaroğlu to manage the CHP either from his office or from Parliament.
SADDLENED BY "TRAITOR KEMAL" SLOGANS
Another striking claim on the live broadcast was related to the slogans chanted in front of the CHP Headquarters. Gürbüz Evren said that Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu was deeply saddened by the "Traitor Kemal" slogans rising in front of the party building. Evren stated, "Last evening, Mr. Kemal was upset and angry for the first time. When 'traitor Kemal' slogans rose in the CHP garden, he wanted Mr. Özgür or an official to come out and say, 'Friends, what are you doing? You cannot chant slogans calling someone a traitor.'"
CLAIM OF MEETING WITH ÖZGÜR ÖZEL
It is also being discussed in backstage that a meeting between CHP Chairman Özgür Özel and Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu could take place after the holiday. It was stated that some CHP mayors and members of the Central Executive Board argue that the two figures should come together to ease the process.
Gürbüz Evren commented, "The possibility of Mr. Özgür visiting Mr. Kemal at his home on the occasion of the holiday is very high. This could be the first step in solving the problem."
