Ankara Regional Court of Appeals 36th Civil Chamber rejected the objection made by the CHP Headquarters regarding the injunction decision issued for the CHP Congress.
The 36th Civil Chamber of the Ankara Regional Court of Appeals decided to annul the 38th Ordinary Convention of the CHP, held on November 4-5, 2023, on the grounds that it was tainted by "absolute nullity." The decision stated that all ordinary and extraordinary conventions held after the convention, as well as the decisions made, are invalid.
COURT REJECTED THE OBJECTION
The court decision also ruled that former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and previous party bodies should continue their duties.
Following the decision, the CHP Headquarters filed a legal objection against the precautionary measure. However, the 36th Civil Chamber of the Ankara Regional Court of Appeals rejected the application.
CHP APPLIED TO THE SUPREME ELECTION BOARD (YSK)
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, in a statement yesterday, announced that they made their first legal objection against the "absolute nullity" decision to the Court of Cassation and stated they would also apply to the Supreme Election Board (YSK).
It was learned that CHP's YSK Representative, Mehmet Hamidi Yakupoğlu, submitted an official application to the YSK this morning.

Following Özel's night press conference and his speech from the election bus, some party members remained at the headquarters, while those who left returned to the headquarters in the morning.
CHP Deputy Group Chairman Murat Emir said, "The true place where this decision will be weighed is the conscience of our people. Politics is made for and with the people. We know, see, and feel that millions of our people are behind us. Therefore, this wrong decision will be reversed by the conscience of the people. We do not find this wrong, unjust, and unlawful decision made by the palace correct, and we do not accept it.
We are at the ancestral home, we are here. We continue our resistance with millions. We have made our application to the YSK because it is the YSK that gave us these certificates. These congresses were held under the supervision and control of the YSK. Therefore, if the YSK is to maintain its existence with dignity, it must stand behind its own decisions and put an end to this unlawfulness at a constitutional level," he said.
