The Presidency of Communication's Disinformation Combat Center (DMM) responded to claims that the Grand Kartal Hotel, which has become a grave for 78 people in Bolu Kartalkaya, will be demolished.
CLAIM DENIED
In a statement made from DMM's social media account, the claims were denied; "The claim shared by some social media accounts that 'The Ministry of Culture and Tourism wants to hastily demolish the burned building in Kartalkaya' is not true. A preliminary damage assessment report has been prepared for the burned hotel building in question. The preliminary report has determined that the hotel is 'heavily damaged.' After the final report is issued as part of the damage assessment studies, a decision will be made regarding whether to strengthen or demolish the building," it was stated.
The statement also included, "The final decision regarding the demolition process of buildings that are not registered as cultural assets is made under the coordination of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism does not have the authority regarding the demolition or strengthening of damaged buildings. Please do not give credence to unfounded claims."
