Zeydan Karalar, the mayor of Adana Metropolitan Municipality dismissed by the Ministry of Interior, stated that he would not join the new party announced by Özgür Özel, saying, "I will stay in CHP. I have been a member of CHP for 54 years." Karalar expressed that he would continue his political struggle under the umbrella of the Republican People's Party.
Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan Karalar, who was dismissed by the Ministry of Interior, stated that he will not join the new party announced by Özgür Özel. Karalar said he will continue his political struggle under the roof of the Republican People's Party.
"I WILL STAY IN CHP"
Speaking to journalist Hilal Köylü, Karalar responded to the question "Will you join the New Party?" by saying, "I will stay in CHP. I have been a member of CHP for 54 years. I have no business with names. The struggle must be carried on within CHP, one of Atatürk's two great works."
Karalar was previously released after a detention period exceeding six months, and during this process, he thanked Özgür Özel many times for his support for his release.
ÖZGÜR ÖZEL ANNOUNCED THE NEW PARTY
Making statements about the establishment process of the new party, Özgür Özel stated that they gathered with elected provincial heads, the Party Assembly, the Central Executive Board, and deputies. Özel, who said the new party would be officially established after the completion of technical procedures, argued that the party to be founded would become the main opposition party in Parliament by a clear margin.
FIRST RESIGNATION FROM MURAT BAKAN
Following Özel's statements, the first resignation news came from Murat Bakan. It was reported that Bakan, who serves as an Izmir Deputy and deputy general chairman, became the first deputy to leave CHP during the new party process.
HIGH TRAFFIC ON E-GOVERNMENT
Following the announcement of the new party, there was high traffic in transactions carried out by citizens wishing to leave CHP membership via e-Government. It was stated that access issues occurred in the system due to the intensity experienced in the party membership termination service.
